On 21 – 22 July 2026, an international external review panel for the NSF/KWTC 555 meeting was held in Seoul, South Korea, bringing together technical experts from industry, regulatory bodies and certification organisations.

The NSF/KWTC 555 establishes minimum health effects requirements for the chemical contaminants and impurities that are indirectly imparted to drinking water from products, components, and materials used in drinking water systems.

The proposed standard establishes requirements for:

  • Products in contact with drinking water.
  • Testing procedures and evaluation methods.
  • Chemical testing parameters.
  • Toxic chemical acceptance criteria.

During the two-day review, Mr. Patrick Chua and Dr. Chen Huayi from Singapore Test Lab, together with Dr. Guo Zhongxian from PUB, provided valuable technical comments and recommendations.

Their contributions helped strengthen the technical content of the NSF/KWTC 555 Standard and support its successful finalisation.

Beyond NSF/KWTC 555, STL actively participates in national and international technical committees covering drinking water systems, piping products, construction materials, TCM testing etc., helping to advance industry standards and technical excellence.

STL is proud to play an active role in the development of NSF/KWTC 555 Standard, demonstrating our commitment to advancing drinking water safety and supporting international standardisation initiatives.
