At Singapore Test Lab (STL), we have Certified Playground Safety Inspectors (CPSIs) who have undergone intensive training and are equipped with quintessential knowledge ranging from playground safety inspection to surfacing system testing.

STL is currently accredited to provide a multitude of services which include the testing and inspection of playgrounds nationwide. Some of our notable clients include Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Gardens by the bay, Kingsmen exhibits, Town Councils etc.

The safety of all remains our utmost priority. From mid 1970s to 1980s, playgrounds took on simple thematic concepts whilst maintaining traditional structures of what playgrounds typically constitute — swings, see-saws, and slides. Perhaps The Dragon Playground at Toa Payoh might ring a bell.

In more recent times, the introduction of 3-Generation Fitness Corners has become more apparent to encourage children, parents, and grandparents to spend time together. A combination of family playgrounds with fitness corners further widens the scope for safety inspection and testing. The rise of complicated structures to fulfil visually captivating thematic playgrounds further intensifies the need for regular safety inspections by qualified personnel.

Beyond playgrounds within our neighbourhoods, STL has also inspected much bigger play structures, of higher profile that experience higher usage. Such popular areas that have undergone inspection by STL include NERF Action Xperience at Marina Square, Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden as well as the Vertical Challenge at the former Big Splash.

The Safety Inspectors at STL have a vast accumulation of knowledge of various structures of play and fitness. From a simple single bay swing set to more modern and sophisticated playgrounds that span large areas catering to various age groups, STL has the most competent manpower who provide consistent inspections to ensure that these playground meets the necessary standards and requirements.
